Ingredients:
- 1 chopped cabbage
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 5 slices chopped bacon
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Cut the cabbage into quarters and remove any wilted or discolored outer leaves. Remove the core from the cabbage quarters and cut into large 1-inch pieces.
- In a 4-quart pan, cook the bacon and onion over medium heat until the bacon is crisp and the onion is soft.
- Remove the bacon and onion from the pan and place them on paper towels to drain. Leave about 1/2 cup of bacon drippings in the pan.
- Add the cabbage to the pan with the bacon drippings and cook without stirring until it begins to brown, about 3 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender, about 20 minutes.
- Crumble the cooked bacon back into the cabbage and serve hot.
