- 1 1/4 cup flour for all purposes
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 2 cups peeled coconut
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup soft butter
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Fill:
- 14 ounce sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 Cup Karo Corn Light Syrup
- 8 ounces of toffee pieces
Instructions :
Preheat oven 350 degrees F.
CRUST:
Mix the flour, oats, coconut, and brown sugar on low speed in a large bowl with an electric mixer.
Add the butter and keep mixing until you get a crumbly paste.
Mix well as you add the eggs.
Mix the chips of chocolate.
Save 1-1/2 cups of the dough for wrapping.
Press the rest of the paste into the bottom of a 13-by-9-inch baking dish that has just a little bit of oil.
Bake 10 minutes.
Fill:
In a small bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk and corn syrup together until they are well mixed.
Pour over the hot crust evenly.
Put small pieces of toffee on top.
Spread the crust mixture you saved on top in an even layer.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Cool, then slice into bars.
Enjoy !
